Includify: Learning to Build Inclusive Communities Together

In November 2025, young people from across Europe gathered in Rokytnice nad Jizerou, Czechia, for Includify — a youth exchange dedicated to exploring inclusion, diversity, and the power of empathy. Over ten intense and inspiring days, participants stepped out of their comfort zones, shared their stories, and learned how small actions can create more welcoming communities.

From the very first moments, Includify was about more than just learning concepts. It was about connection, reflection, and action — discovering what inclusion truly means in everyday life.

Learning by Doing

Throughout the exchange, participants engaged in interactive and reflective learning processes that encouraged critical thinking and cooperation. By examining social barriers, stereotypes, and everyday forms of exclusion, they developed a deeper awareness of how diversity is experienced by others. Working together in international groups helped participants challenge their own assumptions and see situations from new perspectives. These shared experiences strengthened empathy, communication skills, and the ability to collaborate in diverse environments.

Celebrating Diversity

One of the most inspiring aspects of Includify was the way participants celebrated diversity. Through sharing personal stories, cultural traditions, and individual experiences, young people discovered both differences and shared values among them. Every conversation became an opportunity to reflect on identity, learn about unfamiliar perspectives, and recognise the richness that diverse backgrounds bring to a community.

Even informal moments — laughing together, tasting gastronomy, exchanging music, or sharing hobbies — became powerful reminders of the beauty of human variety. Participants began to see diversity not as something to navigate or overcome, but as something to cherish. In these moments, differences became bridges rather than barriers, and a deeper sense of belonging emerged for everyone involved.

By embracing one another’s uniqueness, participants learned that inclusion is not only about acceptance — it’s about actively celebrating what makes each person distinct, while finding connection in common goals, values, and humanity.

Looking Ahead

By the end of Includify, participants reflected on how they could carry their learning forward. The exchange resulted in creative outputs and dissemination materials, but its most lasting impact was personal growth. Participants left with increased confidence, empathy, and motivation to promote inclusion in their schools, organisations, and local communities.

Includify empowered young people to embrace diversity as a strength and to actively contribute to environments where everyone feels seen, respected, and valued.
