🇸🇰 Video Workshop

In June 2024, Košice, Slovakia became the stage for another inspiring edition of the Video Workshop, part of the Citizenship in Action project. This time, after a short introductory session, young people from Košice came together to explore their creativity and learn the basics of videography — not just for the sake of art, but to address the realities of their local community.

During the workshop, participants were introduced to the world of filmmaking, gaining skills in camera work, storytelling, and video editing. The participants then took to the streets to interview local people and find out more about what makes Kosice their home, with all that comes with it, the good, the bad and the ugly.

The result? A thought-provoking short movie, reflecting their perspectives on the challenges and hopes they see in Košice.

Later in the year, participants from Bratislava, took the skills acquired during the project to shoot a documentary about a community center in the capital city. They went to Centrum rodiny, which is a non-profit organization that is building a community center and offering a space for everyone who cares about society, the people around them, and the environment they live in. Through their activities, they bring together different generations and diverse individuals. They aim to help make society better. They give a second chance to unsellable food and clothing, as well as to people on the margins of society.
