Summary

With an emphasis on safe trekking, join us for an exciting hike along a picturesque path close to Kemence. Hike with an expert to get away from the contemporary world and everyday routines. Join like-minded individuals in socializing and taking in the beauty of nature while working out. The hike is going to be round trip, participants will start in a small town called Kemence and will arrive back there after the event.

This is a social activity, so expect to hike and meet with people who may become your friends, form bonds and hike through the northern part of Duna-Ipoly National Park.

Participants must attend a preparatory meeting to make sure everyone is prepared and knows how to hike safely, as the main goal of this program is to encourage participants to embrace a more active and conscious lifestyle by opening up new experiences and watching out for themselves and one another in a hiking environment.

Participant Profile

  • Likes outdoor activities and seeks new adventures.

  • Fully available to participate throughout the duration of the whole program.

  • No prior experience is required, but a basic level of physical fitness is necessary.

Location

  • The hike’s route will take us from Kemence through Holló-kő to Castle Salgó, then on the way back we will be going in a valley where we will see Német-kút and a forester memorial before arriving back to Kemence.

  • Specifics: planned length is 18.8km long, starting from the town Kemence and ending there too. Map

  • Meeting is at 9:30 AM at the junction infront of Kemence Primary School

Useful information

  • Participation costs: There are no participation costs. Trainings are funded by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union. However all participants are responsible for their own travel costs. Once a participant is selected, the coordinator will approve them. There is no further action a participant must take to get accepted.

  • Health & Insurance: We do not organize insurance for our participants. If they wish to have coverage, participants must arrange insurance for themselves. However, we ask all participants to bring their European Health Insurance Cards, which can be used if they need hospital care.

  • What to bring: Identification card or passport, pocket money, comfortable and enough clothes for the outdoor activity (according to the weather forecast), hiking shoes, water bottle, rain jacket, small backpack (15-20 l).
